The other dog will no doubt be destroyed after an assessment from the K-9 training unit of Redcar and Cleveland Police.

Can’t wait to hear the usual gutter rats espousing their dog is great and it’s an unjust reputation caused by a few bad owners.

I live pretty nearby and Dormanstown has a rough reputation. It’s the sort of area where you’d expect dog owners that just don’t give a shit unfortunately

It should be against the law to have a dog out in public without being on a leash. Fucking sick of these beasts running around while their braindead owners run 20 feet behind them yelling about how it ‘won’t touch you!!’.

Prior to 2020, dog bites and reports were at a steady rate, but it would appear the largest factor in the average 47% rise since (pandemic puppies) the end lockdowns and many returning to inperson work. 3.3 million additional households during the pandemic became dog owners .
The surge is attributed to a combination of factors of changes and basically all the dog has known has been turned on its head, and then you have lack of socialising, poor training, increased anxiety (separation), hunger due to COL,many bought without due care by the buyer these „pets“ could be ticking time bombs they could have come from anywhere and have any ammount of undiagnosed physical or mental conditions.
You could have a dog crossbreed with the worst traits of god knows how many actual breeds. Can you tell if a dog is what someone says it is, People want a dog fast and cheap, so no check pedigree or on the sellers, so puppy farms, uneducated or unethical breeders, etc.
There is no info on the history or even parentage of the „real“ breed. I mean, you mix two attack breeds or high prey driven. And do they get to the vets to check certainly lockdown, and by then its to late. And then you have physical issues. You could have a dog who is in constant pain but doesn’t really show it. Imagine if you were in pain 24/7 but had no way to communicate it it would drive you insane. You’d try to control it, but then just one thing could set you off one tail stamp or eag pull and bang.
Yes, there are dangerous breeds in the news, but i bet some people would be very surprised to learn that the Labrador is the breed with the highest incidents of dog bites. 2nd is mixed. 3rd huskies. And the XL is the most destroyed.
When reviewed by vets, the diagnosis was the most dog on humans. Incidents were motivated by fear, not aggression. One study shockingly are large percentage of the owners who use physical punishment as a training/education method instead of treat or reward lead.
So yes, XL Bullies are in the top list of Cross breads I mentioned before that literally has the increaed potential to have every trait from the bad column in its DNA, BUT they are not the soul or even the biggest reason for the increase in incidents.
