    1. Carney says the Liberals are pro-choice, pro-same-sex marriage, anti-conversion therapy, etc., and that Gladu „will vote with the government“ on these issues.

    2. I would be fine with floor crossings if MPs actually had free voting ability, but when this person goes from voting 100% against the government to now voting 100% for the government overnight, this becomes an obvious betrayal to her voters who specifically do not want that. Clearly something weird is happening behind the scenes, but I don’t even think the average Canadian voter would care at this point sadly.

I think after this crossing, Carney should take a pause from the foreign relations for a week or two and hit the ground to get some feedback from citizens across the country. Gladu’s crossing is the most disruptive because it directly enforces the narrative that the liberals are doing everything they can to consolidate power. If there are truly as many unhappy MP’s considering crossing as have been reported, Carney should be entirely capable of filtering ones out that dont fit.

It feels like letting her in was an out-of-touch gamble that he made based purely on opinion statistics of how the last members were received without considering crucial details of who the candidate is and what they stand for.

So she basically shed everything she stood for to join the liberals. I’d love to know what the Carney camp bribed her with, I’m sure these floor crossers are compensated in someway for their change in loyalty

If this holds true, it could support some theories that Gladu believed crossing the floor would put her in a better position to push for some economic policies, and she saw that as being more important than holding to some of her previous positions on certain social policies.

    6. The question remains whether she joined the Liberals out of her own volition, or if the Carney team actively reached out to convince her to join. The latter would be problematic since then it’s possible they are recruiting more social conservatives who might or might not cross.
