      Gas flaring—the burning of natural gas associated with oil extraction—wastes an immense amount of energy and financial value globally. In 2024, global gas flaring reached 151 billion cubic meters (bcm), the highest level in almost two decades. This is estimated at $63 billion lost, across the planet, not to mention the environmental costs.

        It should be outlawed.
