      This weirdly feels like the crabification process, but for drones- it’s slowly moving towards the shape of a small cruise missile

      Make the engine tilt like vtol planes after take off, but then that’s an order magnitude more complex than slapping it on

      Vtol thrust is about 40 newtons per kW.

      Or about 4kg/kW.

      Wings should generally be somewhere north of 200 newtons per kW.

      The FanWing design could be very useful as a fibre optic drone or other heavy lift type.

      It uses a type of ’super circulation‘ blown wing using leading edge cross flow fans. They state 200 to 300 Newtons per kW.
