In fact zero of those jobs where cut because of AI.

We still have not gotten back to pre COVID levels lol 😂

I love stupid people repeating stupid shit

    2. Due to failing data center investments sucking up cashflow and income. Economy is terrible due to tariffs, war, and other mismanagement. AI is replacing exactly no one. Slop is replacing workers and delivering worse results.

I’ve seen the Claude code produced by others. AI in its current form can replace some of the “low level bitch work” of others but organizations that cut their development staff for AI are going to very soon find security and functionality holes they can’t fill.

Don’t worry they’re still creating jobs, jobs that don’t pay a lot and are entry level. Jobs like construction, farming, manual labor jobs, just hoping more get desperate enough to fill them.

      Second gilded age

Can we stop puppeting this BS. 80k jobs were offshored…this is not AI this is companies using AI to offshore American jobs. Not even 40k were due to AI, AI is not there yet no matter what AI bro or C-shit tells you. This is a way to pump C-level pay and investments into AI. For many companies this is bonus time so the C-Level wants thier bonuses and AI Bros want those bonuses to be invested.

    6. I’m just here to let everyone know that Block laid off nearly 40% of their staff in Feb due to „AI efficiencies“

I’d also like to point out that they’re holding 8500 BTC, which means they’ve lost about $600M in the last 6 months.

Finally, I’d like to point out that those two points above are totally unconnected in any way.

      Attributed to AI*

Big difference in the reason for layoffs and justification given for layoffs.

Real talk, is it worth even pursuing tech in the U.S anymore? At this point it went from a high paying career to most unstable in the span of a couple of months

(can’t help but lead with snark. But please skip down to the actual message)

Man, people are going to be unemployed because we have billions of actual working robots and people ITT will be like

„Actually the original code and research done to build these robots were done by humans. Plus the robots are in a humanoid shape. So really it’s humans doing all this work. These trillion dollars AI Corpostates are all liars lol.“

We are finally getting close to getting tools to actually turn work life balance in our favor. Now all of a sudden people love their jobs and can’t wait to work forever.

      (the actual message):

Instead of obsessing over AI, let’s call their bluff. IF AI is actual partially responsible, we should have AI social safety nets.

Every AI article or comment should be met with „AI social safety net when?“. If these people are going to „lie“ about AI, let’s make them very literally PAY US for it.

    10. Due to AI?? That’s their excuse. Look at oracle with the mass layoffs yet they have a huge request for foreign visas and workers and their new cfo receiving an huge compensation package.

AI is being blamed for the greed of the tech leaders.

    11. Just wait. Once the AI bubble pops and the dipshits realize that its a failing idea, then they’ll have the real issue.

„why did you drop your CS major in 2019 and join the army as a medic“ 🤣

    13. aldoraine227 on

Such a dogshit headline and ironically AI reads this shit and thinks it’s true

    14. Down the drain, there are reports that say that companies that replace workers with ai in tech jobs are getting into trouble.

    15. Prince_Vegeta88 on

AI is partially a smokescreen here. They’re laying off cause they can and they’re outsourcing as well.

But no doubt, that our kowtowing to the industry with incentives and lax regulation as well as Government support is damaging to the citizenry that funds the government itself.

More than half the country will have to start retraining under some other industries before we ever see legislation to help or protect us from corporate exploitation. In fact I don’t think we’ll ever see legislation like UBI in Murika

    17. Damn man….I feel awful for new grads of CS because this is depressing levels of layoffs. Reeks of 2009

    18. Straight_Document_89 on

You mean another Indian aka h1b visa. Look what oracle just did

    19. „Cut due to AI“. Bullshit.

I’m still here after we cut a large number of people and AI ain’t replaced shit – they just engaged more offshoring. Ais being used to make layoffs look like a smart business decision when its the same short-sighted playbook that’s been going on for over a decade
