      I used to think US used 911 because of the tragedy of the same name .

      IIRC 999 came from the old dial telephones, so you could dial in the dark

      131 Ambulancia

      132 Bomberos (firefighter)

      133 Carabineros (police)

      134 Detectives

      Ukraine used to have (still does) separate numbers for gas emergencies, fires, police, and ambulances (101 through 104).

      112 is a relatively recent addition, and it was implemented ahead of the Euro 2012 specifically.

      Korea is wrong. It’s 112 for the police 111 for national security and 119 for fire and healthcare emergencies

      What have you done with the UK? In the UK it’s 999. I’ve never heard of anything else.
