      The Daily Beast has been claiming daily that Republicans are turning on Trump, even as they greenlit his war in Iran. I will believe it from the horse’s mouth, not the Daily Beast.

      McConnell craved preserving power more than preserving the Constituition.
      Republicans like Susan Collins, who felt he learned his lesson, followed their leader instead of the law.

      There is no defense of these comments. If he’s not serious or is serious don’t matter. A person with the power the US president doesn’t get to joke like that. He doesn’t get to threaten like that. It’s not a reasonable way to behave. He needs to be removed. It is not debatable and not defendable.

      This feckin headline is the result of media moving from a subscription model, which protected the integrity of journalism to some extent, to a click based media. We could have put some intelligent limits and restrictions on web-based media and we didn’t do it. So, „hooray!“, there’s no such thing as truth and lies don’t exist.
      In one generation we handed democracy over to techno-fascist barons because we grew complacent and we believed the unsubstantiated promises of capitalist opportunists.

      Here’s the funny part.

      If they banded together and impeached him. They’d likely have a far greater chance of winning the midterms. Showing they are holding leaders accountable.

      Why don’t they? Because their benefactors that support Vance do not want that to happen. And because they all actually 100% support everything he is doing from the fascist kidnappings by ICE to the destruction of the government apparatus to killing social services to the use of DOJ as a weapon and the outright genocide and war crimes they are threatening.
      They support it but they can’t say it and go home and face election. But they can let him do it and say nothing.
