If NES the orange-liberal wins, the three parties should just merge. Instead of the progressive/anti-ford vote being split between 2 progressive parties and a blue-liberal party, it would be split three ways between 3 progressive parties whose differences are probably going to be way too nuanced for it to be worth not being a unified party.

  2. Three back to back hit pieces on NES from the Toronto Star in such a short amount of time. Journalists like Martin Regg Cohn obviously hate him. If NES is the perceived front runner right now with the most mud slinging aimed directly at him from infighting Liberals, then NES needs to grow thicker skin.

He aspires to be party leader and potentially Premier of Ontario, so he needs to realize that the media will never be his friend. They won’t be nice to him on a good day, and they’ll have a field day attacking him for talking back to them. The last hit piece prompted this one. He’s got to learn to let it go because it will just get worse.

Strap a picture of Cohn to a punching bag in privacy and let it out all there, then pretend he and others like him don’t exist. Take cue from Trudeau, who knew how to handle harsh journalists to him. They certainly were not kind to him. But he didn’t let it get to him, and would even turn around the situation with his charisma alone when trying to provoke him for a sound bite.

The ones against you are already against you, hoping to convert others who don’t know you to hate you too. All you can do is act the opposite of the way they describe you, so reasonable people can see how wrong they are. But when you give in, you just pour gasoline on the fire.

That story that came out about him wanting other nomination candidates to step down in Scarborough Southwest is laughable. If you think you’re going to be Premier, you have to win a nomination in a riding that your party lost last election.
