  1. This is a good opportunity to remind people that lake Zug suffers from massive amounts of nutrients, especially phosphorus, which mostly stem from agricultural runoff (farmers putting too much manure on their meadows). Because of this, 160m from the surface the lake is basically free of oxygen. Now we will have to build an aeration plant to artificially pump oxygenated air into the bottom of the lake to keep it alive. Of course it’s politically not possible to put stricter regulations on farmers. Instead on top of the highest agricultural subsidies in the world we will also have to spend taxpayer money on an aeration plant to repair the damage caused by excessive agricultural subsidies.

In total there are already seven lakes in Switzerland that have to be kept alive with taxpayer money due to agricultural runoff.
