There is no such things as the „dark side of the moon“ though. All of the far side of the moon has been extensively mapped by orbiters. It’s just the first time a person has seen these parts of the far side.
Every single Apollo landing mission also went around the „dark“ side of the moon.
All this moon stuff shows is just how uneducated the average person is with the space program and science in general.

The 53-year thing is pure numerology. Dark Side of the Moon came out in 1973, which is 53 years ago from 2026 but Apollo 17 was December 1972, so it’s actually closer to 53-54 years depending on how you count. And the album runtime is 42-43 minutes, not 40, so the „match“ she’s marveling at… doesn’t match.

how is it a coincidence the time of the album was almost certainly deliberately inline with the trip across the dark side. And it was released in line with the original space race hype.
