A scheduled press briefing set to take place at 8 a.m. on Tuesday at the Pentagon has been canceled.
The briefing, which was to be conducted by Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth alongside Chair of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Dan Caine, was set to come just 12 hours before a deadline set by President Trump for Iran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz or face bombardment on powerplant and bridge facilities.
A reason for the cancellation of Tuesday’s press briefing was not provided.
Earlier Monday, Trump appeared alongside Hegseth and Caine during a White House press briefing on Iran, where they discussed objectives as well as the extraction of an American airman who had been forced to eject from a fighter jet over Iran and had to be rescued Sunday.

I can appreciate that a lot of people are worried about what comes next, but even though these people are absolute trash, it’s really hard to picture them using a nuke in this situation. I remember the “bunker busters” that were used in Afghanistan. They were roughly described as having an explosive force similar to older nukes. I could see them using that kind of force, but dropping an actual nuke? That would doom any goodwill we have left in the world. It would be a complete disaster we might never recover from. You’d have to be seriously crazy.
Lots of speculation here about hangovers, firings or nukes or other escalations but guys, remember, this is the Trump Administration. It’s probably something really stupid, like Hegseth’s getting his butthole waxed by the best butthole waxer in town and he books out months in advance because his butthole wax jobs are just that good.
I have no idea if butthole waxing is even a thing, btw. You can insert some other beauty procedure in my post and the point still stands.
This specifically is likely war theatre and a stupid signalling to put pressure on the Iranian Regime. But it makes the mistake of thinking that they care.

Who knows what that means they have planned, but simultaneously what does anyone get out of these press conferences? They lie and then they get angry at anyone who asks questions. And the only people who actually watch it in any detail are the ones who disagree with this admin.
There’s so much shit in all of this, but sometimes I just sit back and I’m like did people really not like not having to worry about what crazy fucking thing would happen every single day under Biden? Even if you didn’t care for the guy, it was not chaotic like this. Trump’s first term was crazy enough, but this is dialed up to 11 and how could you ever have expected otherwise? The anxiety is just palpable.
