When you say 2020-2024 does that mean multiple votes were held for each county or each county had their votes at different times?

The counties bordering Idaho have not-insignificantly less enthusiasm than the south-central counties, and honestly that should* give the voters of the south-central counties some pause.
*but won’t, because, well…

This won’t ever happen btw. 1. Idaho and Oregon don’t want it (expensive and messy) 2. It messes up with congressional seats (Oregon with just western boundaries would be super progressive and Idaho would gain an extra electoral seat) 3. This only legitimizes other separatists movements —> Southern Illinois separating from Chicago, western parts of Virginia given to WV, El Paso to NM, etc…

Eastern Oregon really wants to have less state funding to sustain itself. As much as they may hate the western part of the state, they are basically being subsidized by them. If they were to join Idaho, a lot of social services would be limited or cut, and maintenance would take big hit.
If anything this benefits western Oregon more. It’s the same with eastern Washington with the Columbia River being the natural state divide. With places like Wenatchee, and Yakima being purple areas.

Why can’t they just sell their property and move over to Idaho. No need to have this vote.

Guess what? They don’t have a choice.

A lot of these counties are really beautiful. I’d hate to lose them from Oregon just because of the people who live there.

I remember reading somewhere that all the leave votes were under 100k because east Oregon is extremely rural. Portland, Salem, and Eugene make up something like 2/3 of the states population.

Eastern Oregon and eastern Washington bitch and moan about taxs when it’s the coastal cities which pay for all their fucking services. There’s nothing in eastern Oregon. There’s a bit more in eastern Washington, but King County still pays for all the state programs.

It’s worth noting that a lot of these Oregon secessionists have expressed a belief that Idaho will somehow allow them to keep growing weed and not paying any sales tax.

Once Tina Kotek is finished turning every street into a walking dead scenario everyone will want to leave.

So the county with the most “leave” votes doesn’t even directly border Idaho? Just how bad are their public schools?

Ok cool! So all the idiots live in the eastern part of the state. Good to know!
