Nobody in my defensive pact wants to join the war I started, just because I am in a trade war with them, has threatened to invade 2 of them, have insulted all of them that fought for us, and claimed that they can’t even contribute anything even if they joined…

The only country who has ever called for help was the USA. In modern history UK or Canada has never been attacked and needed defending. nobody has invaded Australia or NewZealand. USA says they are protecting all of NATO, shielding us from the bad people… WHAT BAD PEOPLE??? WHO IS THREATENING TO INVADE AND ANNEX CANADA?

Trump can’t leave NATO. He is not the government. The U.S. has a legal arrangement with NATO and Congress would have to act to take us out of NATO.

The Europeans? The ones he keeps insulting and threatening with invasion every other week? The ones affected by nonsensical and arbitrary tariff schemes? The ones more directly affected by an uncoordinated regional war in the middle east? This US administration, as well as the opposition has neither concept of leadership nor a clear chain of thought. They’re making everything up as they go, and they’re going to make the US weaker and weaker. America had all the soft and hard power in the world 30 years ago. America stood as a symbol for freedom, prosperity, potential. Now? If this is what leadership looks like in the 21st century, nobody wants any of it.
He needs to apply that standard to himself.
US can’t leave NATO, since that would be handing over territories to Russia which will deter US supremacy in longer run. Prisoner’s dilemma at play here.
This is just the dumbest style of leadership that every nation, state, corporation, and even sports team has proven time and time again that it fails in the long term.
Trump can personally leave NATO, but it’s not his decision to pull out the USA

For some time I thought he wanted to do the strategy of the „fake fool“ but the more insane declarations without any repercussions he does the less effects he will get
