„that two agents had appeared to have lied under oath about the events, adding that they had been placed on leave and could end up facing criminal charges.“ Key word….“could“. Betting anything that „could“ becomes a „WONT“. Law and order unless a dirty trump thug needs a pardon….

> The video contradicts the agent’s claim that three assailants had beaten him with a shovel and broom for roughly three minutes before he opened fire. Instead, the confrontation depicted in the video lasts about 12 seconds and shows two men struggling with the agent. It shows no sustained attack with a shovel.
> The federal government had access to that video within hours of the shooting on Jan. 14, the Minneapolis police chief said. Yet prosecutors did not watch the footage, an official said, until nearly three weeks after they filed charges against the two men.
The prosecutors should be disbarred.

The old videos also undermined ICE accounts, but so does the new one.

Is it sad that I read the headline and had to ask „Which one?“

Facts constantly undermine their lies. Constantly.

I’m not sure this is “new” news. Lots could happen here but we know for sure frozen folks are at fault and they lied.

Another example of law enforcement fabricating narratives to justify excessive force. The fact that these agents are only „could“ face charges despite apparently lying under oath shows how broken our justice system is when it comes to holding federal agents accountable.

>The shooting was a rare instance in which U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement under the Trump administration ultimately acknowledged a serious lapse. The agency’s acting director, Todd Lyons, said after the charges were dropped that two agents had appeared to have lied under oath about the events, adding that they had been placed on leave and could end up facing criminal charges.
I mean lets be real. They are going to be suspended for three weeks, put back on the job, and everything will be ignored.

ICE Agents lying? This has never happened before and is surely an isolated incident not at all indicative of a culture that rewards their heinous actions.

When has an ICE account ever been corroborated by video?

This would be the one they shot through his door, then lied and said they were attacked with shovels. And essentially the only law ICE had been respecting was vampire law. They wouldn’t go through a locked front door. They tried getting collaborators to get in and then open up for them, so I guess they didn’t *respect* the rule, but whatever. The closed door was the only thing that was working and they shot him through it and lied about it.

It’s faster to count the cases where they haven’t been proven liars. That count is still 0.

did we redefine the word ‘undermine’ to mean ‘invalidates?’
