Hallo!

  1. Saw at least 3 , usually near a church. The one I see often is used and kept in good shape

  2. There are places like this in Kraków. People coming back from Easter can offload extra food there.

We have both community fridges and community safes, where well off people put excessive money and people in need take some to pay for their expenses. Wola Szczebrzeszyńska, powiat Mokry Pyz, Wielkopolska.

  4. In Wroclaw there are a few, maybe 5. They are in good shape, often lot of good food, from regular people or local shops/bakeries. The idea is to limit food waste, so everyone is welcomed to use it, not just people with low income.

I’d never touch the food from there. Hell knows who had access to it. It’s literally asking to get poisoned.

There are maps of these available on the internet – there are more spots than you’d think, but so far it’s still mostly the major cities.

There are several in Warsaw, probably around 15 I know of.

Are they **popular**? I don’t think so. But they do exist, work well, and in our coty social workers are aware of them existing.

What you should googke as a term is „Jadłodzielnia“.

And all of those I know of are controled to keep them clean. They are near churches, stores, restaurant or other initiatives.

And no, nobody puts spoiled foods there!
I was on both ends – adding food and taking from it, never had any problems health-wise.

  8. I have one near my house. Good thing after holidays or parties when there is lot leftovers. Can’t put everything though, there are some rules to it (no fish for example). But still it’s better to share than throw out.

Not in my city, as i live somewhere i can’t even call a Town, so a village basicly, but when i go to Gdańsk there is plenty of them.

  10. They do exists, but they are abused, people know what time to expect food and drive their 50k car to pick up everything. I tried few times, they were empty all the times but one, so yay, got some bread.

This is the sort of beautiful things you can have if you don’t have illegal migrants and „refugees“ or other engineers and Doctors running around

  12. Świetna inicjatywa, choć nie widziałem ani jednej takiej lodówki w swoim mieście. Jest jakaś strona/aplikacja na telefon z listą wszystkich lokalizacji?
