I have a PhD in neuroscience, a well paying job on a government institution, a fair number of published studies, collaborators and grants.

And I’m considering doing the same when my current contact ends. Getting a semi-trailer license and driving a truck.

It’s shameful to be jumping between fixed-term contracts forever and nobody is striking or doing anything about it. You are expected to spend 20 years without knowing where you will be working (or if you will have a job) in the next year.

20 years ago one could get tenure at 40, now 50 is more likely and never is becoming more and more common (short term contracts until retirement!).

    Fuck academia.

No way 17 years old is „the youngest“, I was expecting to see 10-12, how it happens in US.

I also enrolled when I was 17 but can assure you I’m super dumb.
