This popped up in my FB newsfeed. An interesting theory. There were a lot of assets deployed to the rescue. They might have used the shootdown as a convenient cover for a sabotage operation. But, I am not 100% sold on this.

Keep in mind C130s carry more than just personnel hell you could carry a tank in a C130 not saying that’s what they were carrying just giving perspective. I’m all about some conspiracy theories however I assure you that was a real pilot and WSO shot down.

The C130s were used because of the range needed, they carried little birds and all the troops to secure the airfield and provide aerial cover for the rescue operation since it was relatively far into Iran.

There’s plenty of sources that have gone over this.

Meh, I can’t go into detail, but this is not a solid line of thought. Coming from someone that is skeptical of everything…

No military risks this many assets or draws this much attention to a covert rescue. It makes no sense at all.

Ya, I’m not buying the official white house narrative at all. The plane was shot down in Khuzestan near the Persian Gulf and somehow the WSO was picked up near the border of Isfahan. That means he somehow moved 110 miles with a broken ankle.

What’s more likely is the US used the „stranded WSO/pilot“ as a diversion to go after Iran’s possible uranium in the Isfahan facility and the mission failed as Iran shot down the HC-130Js and choppers. The WSO was probably already rescued or maybe not even in Iran.

HC-130Js are really not suited for a 1 man rescue operation but they would be of more use if you want to load up uranium stockpiles

It would also explain why those general were fired by Hegseth. They probably thought this was a bad idea
