What happened to all the Scandinavian and slavic slave’s future lineage? Did they interbreed? Weren’t they often kept as concubines? Did they have mixed kids?

  2. The map should be extended to Asia, I know in the ancient times China also had may slave women who were from the Near East, I wish to see that part too

  3. The slavic slave trade was a major source of revenue for european countries during the middle ages.

I compare it to the sale of Opium by the british to the chinese, The slave trade provided the Europeans tradable goods the muslim world wanted and it balanced the trade somewhat between the markets.

The slavic slave trade in europe somewhat died out as the slavic peoples converted to christianity and the slavic nations solidified.

Raids on slavic lands for slaves continued by non christians.

After the collapse of the Golden Horde the Crimean Tatars,The Nogai Horde and the Circassians continued to raid Slavic lands for slaves.

The practice mostly ended in the 19th century when the Russian Empire conquered Central Asia,Crimea and the Caucasus, effectively ending the slave raids by force.

Slave trade went both ways. In the 10th century, Europe had pretty much nothing else to offer, but there was a demand for the luxury goods from the Middle East:

The castration did happen outside Muslim lands, because it was forbidden in Muslim lands and these slaves were thus highly prized. It was not very common though, a really small contingent.

Slavery was a given in human history.
