Sad as this is it’s a reminder that as each generation passes we have fewer and fewer combat veterans. The only way to get more combat veterans is to engage in more wars. Let’s hope we learned something from this gentleman’s sacrifice and from all those who have answered the nation’s call to defend our freedoms.

Rip. I often think of the old veterans coming out to the elementary school on Remembrance Day, from the great and second world wars. I think of how sad and hard their faces were. And I remember how every year there were less. I loved those men in a way I didn’t understand as a child and I’m not sure I understand any better now. I always felt the horror and sadness and brotherhood of war through those men. I always wanted to say thank you for something I didn’t understand.

Gone too soon
The greatest generation. May the new generations never have to experience what they did.
Rest in Peace.
3 earnest comments, 4 shitty jokes. Stay classy Reddit.
