This doesn’t tell the *entire* story, as a lot of Mexicans have been detribalized and are mixed with European and African, so they don’t call themselves “indigenous.” This map probably just shows the percentage of Mexicans who self-identify as indigenous, and not the actual percentage of Mexicans with some indigenous background.
