  1. I am in this picture and I don’t mind it.

Would be good to have a better quality image so we can zoom in. Can’t really see many countries in Europe

  2. Big respect to Germany, France, Sweden, Japan, China etc. Being able to produce your own best selling cars is not an easy feat.

  3. lmfao there’s no way new Lada models are selling anywhere near others in Russia. Old 2107’s and whatnot, sure, but I don’t think I’ve seen a single new Lada model in the last year. Chinese brands and European ones that still ship are wayyy more popular

Edit: I have a feeling none of the people replying to me are actually Russian….

I am trying to work out if this is for what the motor industry call the „marque“ (i.e. the brand on the vehicle not the model), or the parent company (so for VW would include, Audi, Seat, Skoda and others along with VW). With the broader definition, I am pretty sure it is right for the UK, with stricter one I would be less sure.

Canada is more American than America when it comes to cars. Did not see that coming.

  6. Are Cubans buying Peugeots? Is that what that pixelated blob is supposed to be?

Unfortunately for us in Australia, because of the government, we’ve lost Ford and Holden.

Suzuki in India is actually called Maruti Suzuki, it was first established as a tie up between the Indian govt and suzuki. Indian govt used to hold a majority stake before exiting the company in 2007. Nowadays suzuki has a majority stake of 60% while the rest 40% is held by private investors

I don’t know about the others but for Nepal it is BYD it is the best seller and if we are only talking ev cars then it is over 60-70% of the market. Kathmandu is filled with BYD

When people say Toyota failed by not going electric soon enough they fail to realise that Toyotas main markets are in regions far from setting up the infrastructure for electric vehicles.

And Ford discontinued the best selling models in Europe: focus and fiesta.
    Such a shame

  13. For the Netherlands, this is not BMW. The data shown here is incorrect.

Actual top-selling car brands in the Netherlands:

    1. Kia: 37,837 cars (9.8% market share)
    2. Volkswagen: 31,883 cars (8.2% market share)
    3. Skoda: 27,884 cars (7.2% market share)
    4. Toyota: 27,806 cars (7.2% market share)
    5. Renault: 24,601 cars (6.3% market share)

BMW is not even close to #1 in terms of total sales.
