Basically absolving themselves from future lawsuits from those businesses.

I’m sure that will work out just fine!

Java was similar—maybe still is, I haven’t checked. They expressly forbid it for being used where lives could be in peril.

“Here’s our useless AI that must be installed on your computer and integrated into all of your applications and browsers! Don’t talk to it!”

      > Microsoft says Copilot is for entertainment purposes only, not serious…

So, microslop deploying the Fox News defense…

So another company now telling everyone what some of us already know… AI is nowhere near as good as these same people tried to convince everyone it was.

And if it’s only for entertainment purposes then why push it on businesses, people go to work to do a job and hopefully get paid a decent salary, they don’t go so they can be entertained by a bit of shit software.

I think I might start a new business that sends clowns an magicians into offices and makes them pay before they leave otherwise they just stay to continually entertain staff.

      > While generative AI is a useful tool and can indeed increase productivity, it’s still just a tool that offers no accountability for any mistakes that it might make.

Nonsense! AI will apologize and say it shouldn’t have done that and says it would understand why you felt it violated your boundaries by deleting three years of work unprompted and it will promise to do better in the future.

Tell that to the NASA astronauts hurling toward the moon without email

    8. Nobody tell Zuck. He just doubled down on yet another bad bet based on hype and FOMO

Clickbait. It’s the same disclaimer you see on law blogs and the like, just making it clear they aren’t acting as a lawyer, because most jurisdictions regulations who is allowed to call themselves that. The enterprise versions of Copilot have agreements that are worded differently.

Lol wut? Are you fucking serious? You’ve been cramming it down our throats sideways this entire time!

    11. There should be a law against, “for entertainment purposes only”, AI, news, information should not be ambiguously true as provided by those that create it

    12. Not one AI vendor at the time will promise anything more than that. It just is currently a fundamental limitation of the tech (the big another one being unable to distinguish data from instructions). As the article states:

      > These may sound common sense for people familiar with how LLMs work, but, unfortunately, some people treat AI output as gospel, even those who are supposed to know better.

„You have to have this thing suck up a stupid amount of your computers resources because its so awesome its obviously the future!!!!“

„But legally, dont use it for anything important. Its a fucking moronic toy, so dont trust it. But its awesome and you need to have it.“

Wow, I guess all those ads on the work computers talking about enterprise copilot and whatnot was actually just the equivalent of Microsoft forcing a solitaire installation.

Unless you built and trained the AI model to do the thing you’re asking it to do, and you’re qualified enough to know whether the results are accurate, nobody should trust any AI for important advice. AI is a tool, not a solution.

And they decided to add it to the fricking office, which is used by a lot of companies. Now if copilot accidentally deletes some of the company’s data, they can’t blame M anymore. What a joke. Copilot is a clown, and Microslop is a circus.

    17. Then explain why you just crammed more copilot trash into visual studio, Microslop.

    18. Whoever came up with that language deserves to lose their job. You can say something like “Correctness of Copilot results is not guaranteed. Users should verify all outputs” which does just as much legal CYA without making the product seem like a total joke.

    19. Interesting. I’m sure my senior executives will be so pleased to be spending millions of dollars a year for something that’s for „entertainment purposes only“
