    1. We are going to have to send in a 2nd rescue team to rescue the first rescue team

As for cost benefit ratio if they discharge all of their rounds they maybe spent 100 US, but if even one bullet hits, they will cause a minimum of 50,000 damage if not more.

    3. They were extremely lucky that the pilots did not care about them at that time.

A couple of cops with AKs aren’t a huge threat, but this does show how dangerous CSAR operations are. By necessity you have to go low and slow. Then anyone can take a shot at you.

And the longer the search goes the more the Iranian military can surge MANPADs, AAA, etc. into the area to attack rescuers.

edit: I didn’t say small arms are not a threat, but on the spectrum of threats they are at the bottom. MANPADs, SAMs, AAA, and heavy machine guns are much more dangerous.

I mean if Iranian helicopters were flying over Phoenix I’d definitely be shooting at them. So I get it ha.

    6. I thought I was in noncredibledefense for a second, why would police think this would work?

      Jolly Green, Jolly Green
It’s all painted brown and green
Well the prettiest sight that I’ve ever seen
Is Jolly Green, my Jolly Green

Got shot down late last night
The flak and the missiles were hitting just right
I pulled that handle and with all my might
Yelled „Jolly Green! My Jolly Green!“

I sit alone, behind the tree
I’m scared of Ahmed as I can be
Oh well, I hope that I’ll soon be seein‘
My Jolly Green, my Jolly Green!

Sound of rotors now I’ve heard
Here comes that great big whirly bird
The PJ’s cable now I see
On Jolly Green, my Jolly Green!

This reminds me of 2003, when Iraqis were able to down an Apache using small arms.

Hey, if the 5-round bolt action Arisakas had hope-and-cope aircraft sights for Wildcats flying at 300 mph, then for sure you would actually have a chance of hitting a low and slow flying Blackhawk with an AK lol
