A reminder that thousands of cool technologies were invented in the pursuit of space missions which pay back the efforts 10 fold (cordless tech, GPS, digital cameras, fire retardant clothes, medicine, etc.) and this is a tremendous feat to create a modern recreation of the Apollo program with plans for longterm residence in lunar orbit and the surface of the moon.

This isn’t just a moment that puts Canada back at the bleeding edge of history as the second country in history to reach the moon, this is the convergence of millions of hours of work from people from dozens of countries coming together to push the limits of humanity beyond the shores of our little terraqueous sphere out into the larger ocean of stars. This is a moment of international collaboration and cooperation to remind us that we are capable of greater things if we work together, and a brief moment where the world stopped and looked together at a feat of human engineering and discovery.

We might be busy fighting and bombing each other, but you can bet the world is going to pause when the astronauts of Artemis III take those first steps onto the lunar surface again. Discovery and exploration are hard coded into our DNA and few other things bring humanity together like it.
