A good number of MPs don’t live in their riding or don’t have a history in them. That’s what happens when people think of party over candidate.
Carpetbaggers go home! My city councilor, Paula Fletcher does not live in my ward. I have no idea where my MPP or MP actually live.
Erskine-Smith just keeps showing himself as more and more unfit to lead the party by continuing to get into these ridiculous arguments. There’s no requirement to live in the riding, and he full well knows it. In dense urban areas like Toronto, it’s inevitable that MPs and MLAs will live a few blocks in and out of the riding boundaries.
The bottom line is – if he can’t win this nomination, and win it easily, how does he expect to be viable as a leader. He is acting like he is entitled to the nomination and scared of competition, and it’s a bad look.
Shouting about carpet bagging would be more apt if Beaches East York was some far off distant riding but it’s literally right next door
I want to get excited about this guy and give the OLP the benefit of the doubt. But they really have proven that the John Tory-Tim Hudak era for the PCs is not the most a party can shoot itself in the foot. They’re determined to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.
Get this guy off the stage. We have a province to save.
