Sitzen wirklich so viele Leute so oft an solchen Plätzen? Ich werde bald dorthin gehen.

  1. All cites in Germany have those spots. When the weather is nice and the sun comes out we love to hang out. Get a beer or an ice cream, get a friend to talk to or a book to read and just take a break.

In less prominent cities (like in terms of tourism) they might be harders to find, but they’re there.

I wouldn’t say those are many people on the picture, but yes. If the weather is good, people (in every city) like to sit in parks etc. I’m sure that’s the case in every country that isn’t constantly too hot or too cold for that.

  3. No Germany looks like this in Hamburg. in Berlin it looks a bit more yellowish. It has a purple tint in Munich.

  4. Certainly. I vividly remember people hanging out in the Lustgarten when I visited Berlin.

    Wait!!!!
I’m passing by that spot in a few minutes, I can look if it’s similar to the picture now

Yes if the weather is good. And talking to strangers is the same everywhere, use your intuition and try out

  7. i love this type of vibe and i think i live in one of the worst cities in germany for this 🙁 frankfurt. anyone know where i can enjoy this vibe in frankfurt? the main sucks 🙁

  8. Yes that’s a very normal sight in pretty much all cities in Germany. When the weather is nice people like to chill on the grass in parks and oftentimes have a few drinks.

Yes especially as I know the exact spot where that picture was taken in James Simon park there’s a lot of people there when the weather is even passably nice and it’s next to museum island so a bunch of tourists too. There’s a lot of parks and nice green space by the waterways.

  10. People do this in many bigger cities in Germany. Bremen, Hamburg etc. Pretty much any city that has a park and good weather in spring/summer

I’m pretty sure most cities with nice green spots have people doing stuff like this or not???

  11. Yes. I was there, well, on the island where the Berlin cathedral was at. And it definitely looks like this.

No, that’s actually a giant matte painting to keep tourists happy.

  13. Yes. You’ll hardly find a park, big or small, where you can find peace and quiet if you’re looking for it. People are already sitting in the parks, even though it’s still quite cold. It’s a blessing and a curse.

I avoid Berlin’s parks these days because it’s too stressful for me.

Yes. That’s a famous spot in central old Berlin. You can find a lot of people hanging in the parks together in the sun when it’s out (winter here is sooooo depressing and dark so we have to make up for it when we can). But is this one spot representative of Berlin? The spirit of the people in this picture probably are representative, at least in summer. Is that beautiful location representative of most of the city? Nope. Lots of beauty in Berlin, but the part of town this pic is in is sort of like looking across the river at Notre Dame and saying, “wow, I guess all of Paris looks like this!”

You can walk 1 hour in Berlin and make photos of immigrant neighborhoods that remind one of a very Turkish area, run down areas that look like horror movies with junkies, posh neighborhoods with freshly painted sidewalk and road lines and the seat of the government filled with too much police

    There are parks and „parks“

In some you can sit on the grass and enjoy the sun and in others you can enjoy a dealer selling you „something“ while random junkies bang in the bushes or shit on the path

  16. Well the grass rarely looks like that at Monbijou park but otherwise it’s pretty much accurate

  17. Yes, there is several nice green places like this in Berlin and when it’s sunny everyone goes there. However not all Berlin looks like that.
Though no city looks like this all around if you want a city with lots of green and water to hang out you should visit Hamburg.

This is April. In Berlin, April means the forecast will tell you the sun is out, then it will hail, then the wind comes but the sun peeks while it suddenly becomes 2 degrees, then clouds will cover the sky and the forecast changes to tell you it will snow in a bit. You step out with a coat just as the sun comes out and it becomes 18 degrees for a full 8 minute window. All of this happens before it’s even 10:30.

  19. Yes but there are also a lot of ugly places. Berlin has a lot of them where junkies inject there syringes in broad daylight

Its like the picture, AND it is the dirty , graffiti, rundown corner with a drug addict, and a rat running around in broad daylight
