      For the first time in over five decades, a human crew is traveling to the lunar far side. After the lunar loop, they will head for a splashdown in the Pacific Ocean. Their data will help engineers build a planned Moon Base, eventually turning the Moon into a stepping stone for the first human missions to Mars.

      With the world on fire and our economy teetering on the brink, no one is really celebrating a big fireworks display. Without a moon lander, that’s all this is.
