Apparently that is the old WOKE rules. You know, when the U.S. was trying to convince people we were the good guys.

‘Make an effort?’ JFC! That’s what the ships and bases are for. Let me guess, the hotels are giving a kickback to Trump.

  3. „US Moves Troops to Hotels in Middle East – Seemingly in Violation of its Own Rules of War…“ All Trump hotels by any chance??

  4. ElSanchoGrande on

I mean Kegsbreath has already indicated if not outright said he couldn’t care less about any rules when it comes to war fighting.

So Hegseth’s steely eyed crusaders want room service and to be able to take a crap indoors.

  6. mediocre_remnants on

So we’re basically Hamas now? Soon we’ll be putting soldiers in hospitals and schools.

  7. If Trump and his cronies actually cared about the rules of war, we wouldn’t even be there.

They only care about two things. Lining their own pockets and massacring or enslaving everyone who isn’t like them.

Our new fox host of War never realized that we have to have a place for the soldiers to sleep, oh yeah and food they’re gonna need food. Is there door dash in Iraq? We can just get mcdonalds, delivered. Yeah that’ll work. Now on to the important stuff. Does my hair look good?

Using human shields. If the hotels accept them, then they’re legitimate military targets, I suppose.

It’s almost like Hegseth doesn’t really care about civilian casualties in these host countries. Might be part of that Christian crusader warrior ethos of his.

Using civilians as human shields? What a bunch of cowards. Go and fight your enemy and stop hiding

  12. Maybe putting a drunken faux news host in charge of the military wasn’t the best idea

  13. On the other hand, it’s still one step up from forcing civilians to house troops in their private homes.

  14. As a 2A453…once upon a time, I worked balls 5 on that exact Ramp. PSAB sucked in the late 90’s but not like this, Fuck Trump!

I remember 15 years ago when it was considered a ‚conspiracy theory‘ to believe the US is a terrorist nation. Now we prove it everyday.

So it’s a TDY mission now? Per diem and hotels being covered by us I’m sure

  17. I would normally view such a thing as a desperation tactic… that the Americans are doing it has raised an eyebrow.

  18. There are no civilians, everyone is a human shield or collateral damage.

    See ‚war‘ for more information.

another ugly thing were doing, go ahead oath takers defend this or how Iran relates to the constitution you swore the oath to

  21. They don’t want to mitigate casualties, they want to increase them. They like to hurt and kill people.

Is this because our bases have been obliterated? Do they have nowhere else to stay?

  23. v2_in_my_gym on

Wait was the Iran Lego propaganda video about killing troops in hotels true?

  24. Didn’t we rebel against the British for quartering soldiers in our houses?

  25. So doing what Israel accuses Hamas of doing every time they blow up a school or hospital.

  26. BritTheBret on

I’m going to break all my mirrors to avoid seeing the monster i have become.

  27. Shinobi-0013 on

That’s because they want the excuse to obliterate Iran by saying they are blowing up civilian infrastructure.

Giving them the perfect excuse that’s how the government works.

  28. DeadlyYellow on

Weren’t they complaining about Hamas using civilian centers and how it was completely justified for Israel to bomb them last year?

  29. Crowne Plaza, Fontana Towers, and Seef Millennium Tower were all hit in Bahrain because there were suspected US personnel in them.

  30. RobutNotRobot on

There’s a number of reasons why this is stupid. Force protection is actually lower because you can’t fortify a hotel. You are creating a military target out of a civilian building. You are also lowering responsiveness, because hotels aren’t exactly going to be as close to duty responsibilities as a base.

But we should really know that this is being done because the US has abandoned a number of bases in the region due to inability to defend them.
