I just booked a flight to Indonesia for July. I was scared of booking it because of the volcanoes, tsunamis and shit. Great.

The magnitude estimate has dropped to a 7.4 — which is still a very big quake, but there’s a significant difference between a 7.4 and a 7.8 (2.5-3x less energy released).

7.8 would have been tied for the 2nd largest quake of the 2022-2026 period.
