      I want to hear what people who voted for the Liberals, especially those who voted for the Liberals the fourth time in a row, have to say.

      According to Auditor General Karen Hogan’s report, even as the total number of visas issued to new Indian students plunged from 51.6 per cent in 2023 to 8.1 per cent in 2025 (till September), approval rates for students from India under the Student Direct Stream (SDS), which included a fast-track feature, jumped from 61 per cent in 2022 to 98 per cent in 2024.

       

      This, despite warnings issued in August 2023 within Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada that the “SDS was being targeted by non-genuine students seeking entry to Canada”, the report said. Canada withdrew the fast-track feature from the SDS programme by the end of 2024.

      Looks like some heads need to roll in this department employment wise. Sad to see what this has become honestly. Canada needs to tighten its belt and look into how this program was used as a gravey train for certain institutions and clamp down on them.

      Hopefully we can solve the problem with more scrutiny and better over sight. But I am sure it won’t happen over night. Do we even know where a lot of these international students are right now in the country or what the are up too??

      They should go backwards and review every single application of anyone who’s still in Canada and immediately cancel their visa and deport them if there was fraudulent application

      I don’t blame Indians. I have Indian friends that are pissed that they entered legit, pay taxes and are solid citizens. Canada wins with them. I blame our fucking shitty bureaucracy. So many layers of ineptitude. Politicians on the take. Google the president of Cape Breton University. This guy made millions from loose immigration approvals. Teaser, he is a former liberal cabinet minister. Puke.

      It’s funny how the article doesn’t link directly to the report it’s talking about…. While choosing particular stats in the report to paint a particular narrative… I wonder why they would do that….

      The problem with titles like this is that a lot of people largely form their opinions from the headline so most won’t go in and read that it was up to 2023 and we’re actually fixing this issue.
