I don’t think we’ll ever have a PM from any party recognize the Uyghur genocide. They see trade ties with China as being too important, so they’re going to turn the other way.

The entire entire cabinet abstained from this vote in 2021 because it alienated a trade partner. It’s shameful but a realpolitik of the modern era. The conservatives would have done the same were they in power and responsible for the economic reality of Canadians.
You know, there’s more to Canadian politics than clearly, divisive clip, probably being pushed by the USA to spread descent in Canada. Especially since they’re not too pleased that we have decided to diversify our trait and bring China in as a major trading partner.
And yet, everyone just eats up the political wedge behaviours
