That’s insane! Hopefully they can absolutely hammer ruzzian positions with this sort of thing.

    No payload on the prototype.

But, eventually, two stage devices will be mainstream soon.

  3. put a couple more wings on it my good man

    lets make it a bi-plane-drone-thing

That looks like something Peter Sirpole on YouTube would come up with.

why not use hydrogen balloons lift the drone up for a few km then trade the height for free distance if you cant find a airstream to carry it

Wing it to the target then jetison the wing for more maneuverability to zero in.
    The Ukrainians are so ingenious.
    Slava Ukraini!

The moving angle to keep a good aoa is an interesting feature. Pretty cool.

  8. I just had this idea piggy-backing someone’s idea for an aerial drone-interdiction gun platform on r/NonCredible Defense.  It was old B-17 with a bunch of 50 cal guns, but then I had this crazy idea to use drones with wings that could be dropped from the bomb bay at great height to glide to target from long range before the final rotor engines took over to deliver it to its final destination.

The catch was that the wings were made of cleverly woven fiber optic cable that slowly unravel like a sweater, losing both aerodynamics and weight along the way until the rotors take over completely.

I didn’t say it was credible, but this Ukrainian design is actually the same idea, just credible, the difference being it exists, it’s radio controlled, and it works.

Please feel free to implement my crazy idea though.
