~~How is that supposed to have any effect at all? Elections are run by states.~~

EDIT: Post office, got it. The article was a stub when I asked this.

cool, I’m signing an executive room strip club order allowing it, we’ll see who wins

    The executive order means nothing.

    The states run the elections.

BUT he is hoping someone will sue so they can escalate to the SCOTUS in the meantime.

  4. Colonel-Mooseknuckle on

My friends, guess who just mailed in their ballot? That’s right, Diddlin‘ Donnie did!

  5. The red states will obey, blue won’t, thus producing a pretext for the Congress to not certify the election

I just signed an executive order that presidents can’t eat fast food for national security reasons. checkmate lardo.

Republicans are really panicking, midterms are going to wipe them out.

    November is coming.

  8. > According to the Daily Caller, the executive order would require the secretary of the Department of Homeland Security to compile a list of verified U.S. citizens in each state who are eligible to vote.

WTF does that have to do with mail-in voting?

  9. I’m looking forward to the next president signing an executive order to immediately put Donald Trump in prison despite whatever pardon he might give himself. If he doesn’t like it, fine he can go ahead and try to sue his way out while he rots there waiting for the process to slowly work its way through the legal system.

  10. Such an Executive order would be ..

    A) illegal

    B) unconstitutional

    C) invalid

    D) dumb (in a way only Trump can do )

My evangelical grandma who hasn’t missed an election in her adult life will have to sit this one out then

    1. Write a nonsense declaration
    2. Get sued
    3. Keep the suit tied up in courts as long as possible
    4. When elections inevitably happen while the suit is ongoing, claim that there was confusion about legality of some votes and use it as a pretext to throw out the election results

  13. Lmfao. Okay orange man. Overstepping your role by a massive margin. Lmfao. This guy thinks he runs states rights. He’s president of the federal government. That’s it. States have their own rules

Time to do away with EOs. The Executive Branches‘ job is to enforce laws that the Legislative Branch passes.

Just like the illegal war that is destroying the entire world’s economy. The higher ups in the military should have said sorry sir we can’t do that.

The courts are finally starting to overturn his stupid EOs. Too late to save the White House.

Will someone tell him EO’s aren’t regal decrees, and these United States aren’t his kingdom.

  16. He can put in any „Executive Order“ he wants regarding elections, but they have no efficacy. There’s no legal requirement for any state to abide by them.

I think he’s hoping for MAGA lunatics in state governments who may try to put his EO’s into policy.

  17. complete_data75 on

He literallly has no power to tell states they can’t do mail in voting

Don’t forget this orange turd literally just did mail in voting

  18. If he is going to EO the damn thing, then why the fuck do we have a govt shutdown?!?! This administration is fucking bonkers. Just illiterate, pedophile sycophants trying to maintain a „godly“ ilk to persuade the MAGA fiends! WTF has America become?!?!

    >According to the Daily Caller, the executive order would **require the secretary of the Department of Homeland Security to compile a list of verified U.S. citizens** in each state who are eligible to vote. DHS would undertake the effort with the Social Security Administration, the Daily Caller wrote, citing a White House fact sheet. The **U.S. Postal Service would then be required under the order to only send mail-in ballots to voters who appear on the list**, according to the Daily Caller. Election authorities in each state typically send out mail ballots to voters, not the Postal Service.

I think I know how this is gonna go:

„Hmm, Smith, Mary, 49, votes demon-rat, definitely not getting a ballot.“

„Okay, Watson, John, 73, votes Republican, okay let’s send him two ballots.“

„Hernandez… Ugh, don’t need to read anymore, no ballot for illegals.“

  20. Trump does another unconstitutional thing and once again all the republicans with their pocket constitutions have vanished like a fart in the wind.

  21. mapoftasmania on

His plan is to stay in power by tying up States that don’t comply with this order in Court and refusing to accept their results – while he refuses to leave. That much is obvious.

  22. You don’t get to tell the states how to vote. Get fucked you rotting orange pedo.

  23. Voting is controlled by the states and the states don’t have to follow exec orders so, fuck em

  24. 1) Only *Congress* can change national requirements or processes for elections.
    A Presidential EO cannot.
    2) The Heritage Society is behind this crap. That organization must be banished from the US.
