Can’t wait for r/Canada to constantly bring up transgender people, minorities, and claim that Avi Lewis is trying to force everyone to think about identity.
The fact that there’s such a massive astroturfed, algorithmic bot farm pushing against him, even just after he was elected the other day, tells me the establishment is scared.
For such a small (at the moment) party he makes some people very angry and very afraid. Yeah, he should not be underestimated.
I have mixed views on Lewis but don’t understand the upset about the leader of the leftist party being a leftist. It’s like complaining about its alcohol content in whiskey. You don’t have to drink it, but it’s a feature not a bug.
With Carney leading the Liberals into center-right Progressive Conservative territory ( no wonder he gets along well with Doug Ford), the left field of the political spectrum is wide open for an actual Democratic Socialist party to offer Canadians something other than market-based solutions.
