Residency so early in her solor career is crazy

What even is a “las Vegas residency”?? I thought it was just a house or something in Las Vegas but everyone’s making this a big deal, so I imagine not. Edit: to whoever downvoting, literally why? 😭 I’m asking a question, no need to be rude.

I feel like 4 dates does not a residency make but since she’ll be here I’ll probably try to make at least one date! She seems to put on a really good show when solo

I’m assuming she’s releasing new music soon cause she only has 15 songs

This is like a test run- if the demand is there, they will extend her residency.

Four shows isn’t really a residency, but it’s cool that she is going to perform in front of some of the most demanding audiences in the world.
It’s a great challenge to take on, so more power to her and I hope it goes really well.

I feel like it would’ve been better to market this run of shows as a “special concert series” or something like that!
It seems like not enough Kpop stans know what a Vegas residency is (*no* shade, it’s not a thing in kpop) for the “title” to make a real difference in sales, and people, myself included, are already getting hung up on the fact that two weekends of a show simply isn’t a residency.

In Las Vegas, a residency can be short or long. They usually start out with just a few shows and then “extend” the residency “due to overwhelming demand”. This is totally normal.
Even when they extend it, she’ll probably only do a few weekends at a time due to her busy schedule.

Sometimes artists will do 4-6 shows in Vegas and call it a limited residency. Often it’s to test demand for future shows and then dates will expand if the shows sell. George Strait started with 4 shows and then expanded to 30 shows over multiple years. The Jonas Brothers did a 4 show residency as well to celebrate their 20th anniversary.

Her team is trying everything to make her happen except actually giving her a hit song that will breakthrough to the general public.

Cringy name which is on brand for Vegas. But hey, if prices aren’t insane, I would go.
