    1. Slight headline editorialisation as the literal translation was a bit off

      > **A Danish sausage maker was named Europe’s best over the weekend. It is the first time in the competition’s 46-year history that a non-German has won the award.**

      >
      > And it was Danish Brian Flink Pedersen from the Pølsemageriet in Grauballe near Silkeborg who broke the German dominance at this weekend’s competition in Heerlen, Netherlands.
      >
      > – It’s absolutely amazing. I had hoped for a good result, but taking both the overall championship and the trophy for the most gold medals is beyond all expectations, says Brian Flink Pedersen in a press release from FødevareDanmark.
      >
      > Around 100 companies participated in the championship, competing in 10 categories. The winner was determined based on the highest average of all submitted products.
      >
      > Brian Flink Pedersen achieved an average of 49.93 out of 50 possible points across his products. He also won the trophy for the most gold medals – a combination that, according to the organizers, is rare, writes FødeværeDanmark.

      > – I have worked with this craft for many years, so it means an incredible amount to receive this recognition in Europe’s most prestigious competition. And of course I am proud to be able to represent the Danish butchery craft on the international stage and show what we can do here at home, says Brian Flink Pedersen.

Fuchs Nachrichten told me it’s fake news! Rigged elections! I demand a recount!

    8. Ok, Germany has fallen. After over a 1000 years we will reclaim the East Germany for Slavs!

      You can keep Berlin.

Surprising that Germany has won each year. There are wonderful Spanish, Italian, Hungarian sausages etc

Now I’m just putting it out there but would this competition, by any chance, be run by Germans in Germany?

A great achievement no doubt, but if a French butcher (for instance) has never won or an Italian with their heritage in charcuterie, it’s probably not that notable an award.

    11. Danes consist of 50 percent cakes and sausages and strawberries and 50 percent water.

Let’s hope Germany has prepared for the Wurst-Käse scenario ✊😞
