Right call from Starmer deploying troops into Iran is bonkers, bigger than Iraq more mountains the Afghan and a population of 93 Million that can put a million man army in the field. A ground invasion is not going to end well and we are well out of it.

This shit show does not require our troops to be sacrificed for an alleged existential threat to create an actuate tangible threat.

There will be splashback of that we can be sure and it will be down to sensible nations to fix what gets broken.

…..not the god bothering, bring on the apocalypse for Jesus window lickers in the USA or the settlers wanting more land in Israel.

Good, let the Americans fight their own bullshit wars. Don’t think they will be so keen when they see their friends and family trying to escape FPV drones in a war they didn’t even need to fight. Certainly not a fate I want to see for British soldiers.

That being said, I can imagine UK special forces might end up in the country at some point, but obviously this is not something they are going to be open to the general public about. This war is going to last a good few years if the US puts boots on the ground and keeps them their without withdrawing. My main concern would be that Labour loose the next general election and we end up with a government that are more willing to commit British troops.

Starmer has been consistently knocking it out of the park recently. So glad he’s the one in charge here.

    5. I think we’re about to witness one of the biggest strategic blunders in modern Warfare by the US, next to Russia’s ongoing „3 day special military operation“

I’ve not been his biggest fan, but recently he has started to win me over with the shit he’s had to put up with from Trump whilst not giving into his demands. And rightly so!

    7. Good. British blood shouldn’t be spilt for the ravings of a fascist leader in the White House and a war criminal in Israel

    8. South_Buy_3175 on

      Good.

Could do without getting some of our own poor bastards killed over literally *nothing*.

    9. Definitely voting labour instead of the crank greens , giving away trident ffs

It’s not just stupid, it would be actively against our own interest, just to pander to other nations. No serious leader would do that.

Then, there is Blair, Truss, Kemi, Nigel or Boris who are working for themselves by dick riding the US. Appaling.

This is an illegal war without congressional approval or international support, so the UK and other NATO allies should rightly have no part in it. Let Trump and Netanyahu fight their own illegal war.

    12. Good. What ever you think of Iran and it’s leadership, USA and Israel started this war on their own, and then flip flop between asking allies to join in, to insulting us and saying we’re irrelevant.
If they wanted a grand coalition to join them, they should have done it properly at the start, not trying to drag us in after the fact.

Id still have been against us joining, but they still should have done it properly

    13. Kampfzwerg1992 on

We went into one illegal war in the Middle East. Let’s not do that again.

    14. Why should he? I’m not his biggest fan by no means but this is the right call and any sensible person would agree, if Israel wont commit their own forces in a war they wanted, why tf should anyone else get involved?.

    15. smoked_fishman on

Absolutely agree for once, but like Trump an important future election will likely render him powerless.

    16. Spiritual_Alfalfa_32 on

Trump about to send Conservatives sons, daughters; wives, husbands into a ground war with no reason behind it. Let’s see those Maga hats!

    17. Certainly_wont_reply on

Iran have no airforce or navy left and they’re somehow baiting Trump into boots on the ground?

      The man’s a child.

    18. Visionary_87 on

I thought America and Trump won the war on the first day of the bombs hitting? What happened?

    19. PutAutomatic2581 on

And they won’t offer any intelligence or logistics support, right? Like, not using UK bases, right?

    20. Hellstorm901 on

We don’t have to get involved, just keep building up defences at British bases and in our allies territory where British troops are stationed

It doesn’t matter if we tell Iran we aren’t involved and we don’t support the US. Iran simply doesn’t care. To Iran anyone not Iran and not currently attacking the „Zionists“ or „Great Satan“ right now is the enemy and Lebanon has already confirmed that the IRGC are active in Lebanon and directed the drone attack against RAF Akrotiri. Ukraine has also reported they intercepted information that Russian satellites were carrying out damage assessment for the Iranian government after it’s attack on Diego Garcia meaning that it’s entirely possible Russia is or is going to pay Iran for attacks on UK and other territories who oppose them over their invasion of Ukraine so we cannot rule out further random attacks on RAF Akrotiri, Diego Garcia or other British territories/bases

    21. So the yanks are officially fking mental. 3500 should do it. There’s only 93 million of them how hard could it be.

    22. Throwitaway701 on

At no point was any of this on the table. He may as well be saying he won’t shit in his hands and clap

    23. Belle_TainSummer on

Starmer denies British Troops on the ground, confirming British troops will be part of the invasion in some daft loophole-y way.
