I used to think Meskhetians were a branch of the Colchis who branched out first and formed Kingdom of Iberia or at least were one of the first Iberians but ive recently learned that may not be true according to the more recent historical evidence. I’m still not 100% sure on this though because I remember reading about it but someone here told me it wasn’t true.

We don’t have much information about it, but it was the strongest kingdom from the 13th to the 8th century BCE. In the 8th century BCE, the kingdom fell, and a new one emerged in the north. Later on, it became a vassal of the Achaemenid Empire.
What we know is that Kartvelian people lived there, they had their own coins, Greeks settled and founded colonies, metallurgy was at a high level, and there is a little information about a navy, which comes from the Jason and Argonauts myth, differentiating between myth and reality.
It was a solid nation.
