    1. The island is a flat rock. If there are any US troops there, there’s no way to protect them, not when the island is within artillery (not even rockets) distance from the shore.

Are Republicans that spineless that they can’t see the writing on the wall?

Houthis are now involved, this conflict inevitably spreads to the Red Sea choking off more of the supply chain and leading to a massive global recession.

Why do we have to wait for all that pan out when Republicans could vote against this escalation?

So they take Kharg island, and then?… Just sit there in missile range? Can’t get any oil out from it without the strait open.

What is the point of taking Kharg Island? Doing so can be used to choke off Iranian oil export, yes. It is not like all Iran’s oil exists at Kharg Island, it is just a terminal for export. The actual oil flows there via pipes from inland fields.

Excellent… We in the Gulf fully support Mr. Trump in crushing what remains of Iran’s oil, gas, and other resources.

Jeez, this is a literal death sentence for whichever soldiers get sent here.

Pretty much an impossible mission, reminds me of D-day on a smaller scale.

Since when is being literally comic book evil a stance to go for in geopolitics?
