If that happens, Donald Trump and the GOP are to blame for putting our troops there.

Americans, better than anyone, should understand the doctrine of self-defence if someone breaks into your home.

Hegseth put US troops in significant harms way by refusing to adhere to the rules of war. Iran has little incentive to treat captured/injured US troops humanely if the US already refused to do so.

  4. This stupid president is going to get so many people killed and it will be all their fault. You really cannot fault Iran for retaliating in this. The United States is the clear aggressor, and despite all their despicable traits, Iran has been the more trustworthy party in this conflict to get announcements from.

Isn’t it funny that The Pussy-Grabber-in-Cheif seems flabbergasted that Iran is actually fighting back? 🤷🏻

Iran is daring Trump, and Trump is stupid enough to fall for it.

Iran was conquered twice in their 2,500 years of history: by Alexander the Great and Gengis Khan.
Needless to say, Trump is neither.

Put in the same situation as Iran, I guarantee you that we’d do the same.

Remember when competent presidents used to just do stuff instead of having to announce it just to sound tough? He puts our troops in way more danger than needed doing this. May as well just send out written invitations.

  9. FluffyPantsMcGee on

Well yeah. The US has invaded their country. Do a swap, bring the troops home and send the Trumps over.

  10. Meanwhile, Trump claimed the new regime is friendly and sending even more big beautiful tankers of oil out and here in my corner of western Washington, the reservation gas station that usually has the cheapest gas around broke the $5 a gallon mark.

There is a good chance I’m going to be looking back fondly at $5 a gallon soon. The longer this idiotic war keeps going, the more expensive gas will get and the longer it will take to get back to the prewar levels of pumpage.

Ukraine has shown how possible it is to resist a greater force and make the invaders spend a generation of young men fucking around like this.

Military You’re going the wrong way! Turn around!

We have a President who is a criminal and likely an asset of a foreign nation, And the commander of our military is an alcoholic white nationalist who thinks he can bring about the „End of days“.

We have a government sponsored militia [ICE] brutalizing our people at home and It’s very likely that our elections will be rigged by republicans and their allies.

We need our military here freeing us from tyranny not attacking oil again.

  13. I bet there are quite a few youngsters in the service that wished they’d gone to college or trade school, or just settled for flippng burgers instead of enlisting,

  14. It blows my mind that anyone still believes boots on the ground is the modern day warfare. We’re seeing it in real time in Ukraine/Russia that drones absolutely annihilate ground troops. We’re walking soldiers literally to their death.

  15. TheMailerDaemonLives on

They’ll also probably just be dropping those little sneaky fucking grenades on the heads of US soldiers with those drones. Have people in the military not seen the thousands upon thousands of those videos from Ukraine where drones just hover for a while, wait for the guy to be chillin, and then perfect place a grenade drop on them? That shit is going to happen so much.

US troops ARE going to die in large numbers if Trump is stupid enough to push ahead with this. Be it an invasion of one of the coastal islands, where Iran will just saturate with missiles and artillery, or an invasion of the mainland which would be even worse. Yet we have MAGA on social media saying „I voted for this“ despite the fact that Trump campaigned on „No New Wars“. Like wtf – this is the greatest evidence of MAGA not being able to think for themselves.

  17. I’m seeing this and just saw another post saying Trump claiming Iran agreeing to the US’s 15-point negotiations

  18. dancefan2019 on

I feel sorry for our brave troops who are put into this senseless war. So unnecessary and careless.

  19. BobsonQwijibo on

I’ve seen two very different headlines posted in the last hour:

    1. Trump says Iran has agreed to almost everything and will open the strait on Monday.

    2. This one, where Iran promises to burn US soldiers.

Why the fuck are we in a reality where no one can believe the US president?

  20. colondollarcolon on

Remember when Pete Hegseth said ‚give no quarters‘ PUBLICLY? He wasn’t talking about coinage. Pete thinks the Geneva Convention is unmanly, Woke and DEI.

  21. ObeseTsunami on

We don’t want this! No one wants this! It’s on us to fix this bullshit.

  22. PepeSylvia11 on

I mean, yeah? Wouldn’t you want to kill soldiers who invade your homeland?

  23. Republicans: you hear that? They’re going to attack OUR troops!

    Americans: who put them there?

    Republicans: …

  24. Limo_Wreck77 on

I believe the Iranians will do a lot worse to any American they capture.

  25. eattohottodoggu on

So, honest question – how are Americans in general going to react to the UKR/RUS style FPV drone footage of their soldiers getting ‚ploded? Or will the current regime censor that footage?

  26. Reminder that in a defensive war, many of the Geneva Convention’s restrictions generally only apply to the *attacking* army. That includes the use of chemical and incendiary weapons. Its also why its generally considered acceptable to use nuclear weapons to defend yourself.

In other words: it would literally not be considered (legally) a war crime if Iran used chemical or incendiary weapons to beat back an invading army that attacked them in a war of aggression, as long as they were being used within and in the defense of their own country.

No saying its a *good* thing, just pointing this out. Countries generally have broad latitude to use whatever they have to defend their own sovereign territory, as long as otherwise banned weapons are only used within that territory.
