      Vance is Catholic

      Thiel would likely to listen to what the Pope says and it would eat at him, being gay and so devout likely contributed to fracturing his psyche. Apparently Thiel is trying to encourage Vance (who converted as an adult) to reject the Pope. I never understood why anyone Catholic would, just convert to evangelism.

      Boehner resigned after speaking with the Pope (and was filmed with tears in his eyes after meeting him), Spicer was reportedly upset when Trump wouldn’t allow him to meet the Pope. He resigned a few months later. He was able to meet the Pope a few weeks after that, shortly before his last day of working with Trump. Leavitt, Rubio, Kennedy, Ratcliffe, Duffy and Homan are Catholics. Perhaps the Pope can convince them to resign as well.
