      Despite the skepticism and naysaying that tends to run rampant here about the NDP, I am nevertheless hopeful. Love him or hate him, but Carney has shown he is governing as a centrist, so there is room on the left for the NDP. The polling has already borne out that the NDP is not dead, as some have enjoyed predicting.

      Looks like the end of the NDP. His policies are so far from realistic that the NDP will probably have an even worse showing. Also, those clips from the convention where delegates fighting over equity cards was so cringe.

      Not surprising, he got the most coverage out of all the candidates, usually when you’re the top you end up making it. Now, you better be working to get a seat in the house. As soon as possible.

      Based on fundraising, Lewis was leading right from the start and never looked back. Not much drama.

      Contrary to what most think, I believe this is what the NDP needed; a strong socialist leader.

      So is another member of the NDP going to step down so that he can be in parliament or…

      Used to seriously consider voting for the NDP before the days of Jagmeet Singh, as they were the party of the working class. The shift that started with Jagmeet and now accelerated with the result of this leadership race just cemented the NDP as the party of fringe identity politics. A deeply unserious party without any long term vision for country other than “no more oil, more handouts”. Avi Lewis’ views on the problems facing us and his extremist rhetoric like calling Carney a war monger will only ensure the party continues to lose support.

      Dud couldn’t even win his own riding in the last election. Now let’s see him tank the party.

      I doubt they’ll do much in terms of polling and electoral performance but I don’t think they could have done anything else.

      They tried a centrist leader in Singh and that went disastrously, they can’t move to the right and they can’t be where the Liberals are right now so the only alternative is pure socialism.

      Looked him up as soon as I heard he won. He’s wants mass amnesties for migrants, and denies mass immigration is related to housing affordability.

      Good to know the NDP is continuing to virtue signal and offer nothing of substance for most voters. Here I was thinking maybe the dock worker would be elected and bring the NDP back to their roots, but clearly my hopes were too high.

      Good luck to the NDP. We sure could use the old NDP these days. Here’s hoping for vastly less divisive identity politics and more focus on income equality, resisting converting the middle class to a slave class for billionaires.

      Avi Lewis was the one that everyone knew would win. The question going forward is can he rebuild the NDP to be relevant with the electorate? He has ideas but whether they’re realistic is another question.

      And with that, the party I knew, ran for, volunteered for and otherwise supported has died.

      I will not renew my membership, and will likely be casting a begrudging vote for the liberals

      There’s the final nail in the NDP coffin – and I say that as a middle-aged lifelong NDP voter. People who actually vote won’t vote for Lewis

      This is the day that Canadian Labour leaders lost the NDP (the party of Labour, the party Labour built) to climate extremism and fringe activists

      Working class Canadians, your voice isn’t important here anymore unless you think the world is ending, wear a keffiyeh, or wave a coloured equity card in the air
