Eh…I think we’re defining „Christians“ pretty broadly here. People who actually follow the teachings of Jesus are certainly not going to approve of Trump.

But based on the visceral reaction of many right-wing „Christians“ to the rise of James Talarico, I’d say the Trump cult is very much alive and well.

White evangelicals don’t care about the shady shit and crimes or even the raping of women and children.

They only care that their mega church pastor is angry because their donations are shrinking and he can’t fuel his private jet…

If you really understand the bible, you would reject Donald Trump because Trump has been disobeying the 10 commandments 24/7.

    4. >In the prior Fox News poll, conducted February 28 through March 2, 2026, Trump held a narrow edge with Catholics.
In that survey, 52 percent approved and 48 percent disapproved, giving him a net positive rating of 4 points.
Among Catholic voters, 48 percent said they approve of Trump’s job performance, while 52 percent disapprove, a net negative of 4 points.
In the late February and early March poll, Trump’s approval among Protestants was evenly split at 50 percent approve and 50 percent disapprove.
In the newer poll, approval fell to 47 percent, while disapproval rose to 53 percent, producing a net negative rating of 6 points.

So religious people are split about Trump, but there is a slight edge of disapproving of him. That’s good.

      >In the earlier poll, Trump posted a 60 percent approval rating and 40 percent disapproval, a net positive of 20 points.
By late March, approval among white evangelicals increased to 64 percent, with disapproval dropping to 36 percent, widening his net approval to 28 points.

Ugh, Evangelicals go even farther down the rabbit hole!

There are a lot of different types of people who self-identify as „Christian“, ranging from kindhearted folks who follow the Golden Rule, to monstrous racist weirdos looking forward to the Rapture in their lifetime.

And everything in-between. There’s unfortunately lots of room in there for pedophiles, rapists, and bigots. Religion and faith are so malleable and ill-defined that it’s a refuge for incoherent and hateful ideologies.

    6. Ok, but when are they going to stop voting for him or calling him God’s Chosen?

    7. You can’t be Christian and support Trump. These two things are at odds with one another.

I’m originally from Arkansas and my family there is Pentecostal. I’m going down for a visit for the first time in a long time and I’m interested to hear how they reconcile Trumps behavior with their beliefs. These people are very devout and follow their beliefs strictly so it blows my mind that they support him.

Christian’s should have known that Trump was a fake when he couldn’t say what any of his favorite bible verses are. Anyone just starting to realize he is full of shit must have had their head up their ass the last decade.

This is why Talarico is getting such vitriolic hatred from the fake Christians

It exposes them, trump and the entire GOP as being the most anti-christian people imaginable in human history

He is unassailable and undeniable and he is showing that liberal (big L) progressive values overlap with *actual* Christian values as taught in the bible

He is incredibly dangerous to them and the GOP that have co-opted the Christian Religion and warped it toward evil

Im not a fan of any religion but you wont find any of the ahit the GOP does in the new testament

My (conservative and very religious) dad asked me why I don’t go to church anymore. I said I cannot deal with the hypocrisy of hearing love thy neighbor and then seeing those same people cheering when ICE kills an innocent civilian. He said he understood… Surprised me.

All these articles are a gigantic waste of time and serve only as clickbait.

They don’t actually give a fuck when it comes to voting. They’ll support his party and love what he’s doing.

    14. They fucked around, and they’re **finally** finding out. For folks so worried about the devil, they had no problem selling their souls.

    15. GreenTrees797 on

Don’t worry they’ll get over it, the cruelty is too much to pass up.

    16. Which Republican candidate of the future will court our christians into a war in the middle east next? Find out next season on „holy fuck how do you not see the pattern?“

    17. Honestly if you call yourself a Christian and voted for the orange turd I will forever question your faith.

    18. Confident-Virus-1273 on

Christians believe in magic and fairies…. Is it any wonder they were so gullible that they supported him?  Hypocrisy abounds with them

    19. This is hard to believe. He’s still got 37% overall. Where are these flips coming from? What imaginary subset?

This is just media bullshit for a cheap shit headline, and it’s been old for years.

      > White evangelicals stand out as the exception, with support among this group having grown over the same period.

Racists holding out strong for daddy CanklesMcTacoTits.

    21. It says it right there in Leviticus…“$4.00/gallon and we taketh ourselves to Galilee“

It has never flipped with Christians; they’ve always been against Trump. It has only flipped with those who pretend to be Christians.

    23. He’s also spent a ton of time attacking a Christian senate candidate who actually walks the walk not just talks the talk…

    24. DangerousCyclone on

To summarize the article; he dropped 2-3 points with Catholics and Protestants as a whole and gained 4 points with Evangelicals. That’s a margin of error difference and indicative of absolutely nothing.

Christians supporting Trump is the most anti Christian aspect of the whole MAGA “ movement “

There is not a single quality in Trump that is Christian. For one he is a billionaire. Christians need to perhaps reread what Jesus says about rich people going to heaven. He is a criminal, convicted of felonies in court. He is incredibly egotistical and self righteous. He is angry and bitter and publicly states how he hates over half of his own countries citizens. He still to this day won’t ever admit to doing anything wrong and once said in an interview how he never even considered asking for forgiveness because he feels he doesn’t need to.

On and on and on and on. Without even going into the Epstein shit or his constant lying or his 26 sexual assault cases against him from various women or or or and and and.

He is the least Christian politician I’ve ever seen, yet MAGA tries to raise him up as some sort of saint. It’s the biggest advertisement against their state of mind

    26. Clean-Elk9831 on

Once again, Christians are going to be dragged through history holding onto the most abhorrent views, all the while claiming the moral high ground.

As a former Christian who’s whole belief system collapsed when the church as a system couldn’t read trumps playbook (and/or, when I was immediately able to read their support of white Christian nationalism as a power play), I absolutely do not care that Christians are starting to stop supporting him. Too little too late.
