    She tries to be like Margaret Thatcher with neither her charisma nor her political backbone. I wouldn’t like to chastise her for her illness, but there’s so many times before you can use „my arthritic joints hurt from all the hand-shaking“ as an excuse to be absent from important meetings and events.

    On retrospect, it’s probably a good thing that LDP got so many seats in the previous Lower House election, because it means that whoever (most probably a centrist) takes over her as Prime Minister would have a stronger mandate to push through a less alt-right political agenda.

  3. However you may feel about her this is a politically savvy move. People want concrete action right now (misguided as some of her policies may be) and this makes the opposition look like they’re the ones stalling. Watch the LDP get a majority in the next HoC election and people will act surprised.
