TLDR: Denmark made a ton of money collecting tariffs at a narrow strait for over 400 years and nobody could do anything to stop it: one had to pay or get sunk. Let’s hope no Iranian ever reads about that LOL

While true that we hold the keys to the whole Baltic Sea, the whole tariff thing disappeared long before WW2, and ever since, we’ve adhered to global laws for sea faring.
Which is also why the soviets planned to nuke all of Denmark into oblivion – our placement as a plug in the whole Baltic Sea…
