These candidate speeches seem to be a relic from a previous era. They used to do that before people voted during delegated convention so people would have an informed choice before voting, but almost everybody has already voted by now, so they’re rather redundant. I guess anything that doesn’t give an indication of a coronation is good for enthusiasm.
Lewis winning first ballot is my prediction.
How much is the whole leadership race costing the NDP? I know they’ve got to do it, but it just seems so wasteful when the winner is already a foregone conclusion and the party is the smallest and poorest its (ever?) been. How have they been doing for fundraising anyways?
