>In text messages, Frew says, the couple discussed zip tying the boys into wetsuits overnight on their hands and feet. That shows a plan, she says, one that did not include the child’s consent.
>“Perhaps most telling,“ she says, is a conversation in which the couple discussed blue marks left on the boy’s toes. She says Cooney expressed frustration that the „d–k f–k“ did not thank her for untying him.
Man, „death penalty“ should really be available as a write in option for the jury

The real villains are the literally army of people in authority who did nothing while all this was going on in plain view. So many doctors, nurses, teachers, CAS workers complained at many levels to NO effect and were ignored by their management. These two subhumans were allowed to carry on in plain sight until an adopted child was dead of torture and malnutrition. Canadian governance shown to be shockingly incompetent once again.

I honestly can’t read anymore about this. It makes me sick what happened to these kids.

How can the defence claim the couple was trying their best? In five years, the boy weighed only 48 lbs – that of a 6 y/o.
It’s clear that their care was lacking. It is also clear that the professionals that were in charge of these boys’ welfare were severely inadequate. Five years, and one death for them to take notice.

These are two horrible humans who deserve fates far worse than our criminal justice system can impose on them. May they never see a day without wearing orange jumpsuit again.
