But the last weekly „energy in Germany“ thread told me we build 100 new coal power plants yesterday? /s

Before everyone gets too excited, they are still on of the biggest users of lignite coal in the world and burn 84 million tons of the stuff every year. For comparison, Germany burns almost 10 times as much coal as the UK.

Sad fact, burning coal is one of the primary drivers that makes Fish we eat have so much mercury in them globally, due to their food chain absorbing the elements from coal.

    4. now place a b2c energy price during same years :)) and also a graph with paid subsidies for „clean“ energy :))

    5. Is that something of an achievement? That in 2026 a modern country like Germany is still burning the lowest and dirtiest form of coal for a significant portion of its electricity? That this is scheduled to last until 2038?

      Jeez, the bar is low.
