>The survey states that the most common symptoms, fatigue (74 per cent), hot flashes (68 per cent), mood swings (65 per cent), weight gain (58 per cent), and brain fog (53 per cent), “demonstrate the extent to which menopause affects day to day functioning.”
>
>As a result, many women state that “their symptoms directly affect their work performance.”
>
>Surveyed women also stated that these symptoms result in reduced productivity (16 per cent), needing time off (eight per cent), needing to take a short-term leave (six per cent), or considering leaving their job due to their symptoms (six per cent).
Sometimes free health care isn’t always the „best“ Healthcare. Im 100 percent in favour of privatized health care in Canada.
Its almost like our Healthcare only works in theory

Have a 4 inch by 4 inch fibroid and a massive cyst on my left ovary. ,,,,,C0-sign at 53.
> Sixty-four per cent of women say symptoms affect them at least some of the time and is lower among Quebec residents at 61 per cent.
In case anyone needed another example of how Quebec’s introduction of private healthcare options improved outcomes, here it is
I’m in Winnipeg. And I waited almost a year for a surgical consult, after that almost a year for the ultrasound. Now waiting since February for the follow-up on the ultrasound results. Who knows how long to wait yet for an actual procedure? This is the state of the health care system caused by unsustainable immigration policies of the federal government. The same government for the last twelve years.
Should see if there are women’s health physiotherapists. They will be a good stop gap prior to formal care and services. Not a replacement but an adjunct.
It’s a two pronged issue – doctors hold off on treating during periomenopause. Plus many still think HRT causes cancer based on a faulty study.
Then there are the women who don’t push back on doctors who don’t prescribe HRT. Their sex lives die. And everyone acts like that is ok (at least in my friends group)
I knew someone who assumed she was going through menopause because she was having hot flashes. Turns out she had breast cancer and was ignoring her doctor trying to contact her about it.
Canadian women are waiting years for care . Meanwhile, our already thin health care resources are getting even thinner. “Canadians now spending $1 billion per year to cover health-care costs of refugee claimants”.
