  1. Sometimes we need to trust the government, like China with CCP. China is able to execute strategic, long term economic plan because of this. Democracy that flip flop between parties like US and UK are sometimes detrimental.

Voters can be duped or uneducated. Look what happens with Brexit and MAGA.

  2. That’s what happened to Quebec when they were having their talks of separation. Businesses left en masse to Ontario

An Alberta referendum is just going to an opportunity for Trump to claim it was rigged and stolen from patriotic Albertans who just want self determination… to eventually join the US, before trying to use it to extort Canadians.

  4. Who would want to invest in AB in such an unstable environment that the separatist friendly UCP has created!

Look at Montreal and how many companies exited during their vote…

  5. Get it together Alberta and learn from the English Brexit was a colassal failure separatism will end the same way.

Can we just get this stupid fucking referendum over with so we can stop hearing about it?

  7. The idea is right, but the tense is wrong.

When the UK was in their will they / won’t they stage, I was a part of a group looking to set up a European office.

In an early session teams were presenting preliminary research on locations.  When they got to London the lead paused and said „We’ve got something, but do we save the time?“.

The top mucky-muck said *“Nah, were good…let’s move on*.

I caught up with a mentor after and asked why we dismissed it…they hadn’t decided to leave.  He said that it didn’t ***matter*** what the decision was, it was ambiguous and introduced risk.  Why deal with a massive unknown when you could avoid it?

I’m 100% sure Alberta has lost out on investments because the provincial government has failed to stamp this crap out.
